Two for one at Waregem Horse Week!
This year the organisation of CSI5* Antwerp chose to (temporarily) exchange the port for the beautiful hippodrome of Waregem, which was received with great enthusiasm. No less than 24 riders from the top 30 of the world came to this new Belgian five-star competition and ofcourse Niels Bruynseels was present as well!
On Sunday there were 42 combinations that qualified for the Grand Prix, of which ten gained access to the jump-off. Until the penultimate jump-off round, it was Simon Delestre who was in charge. With Chesall Zimequest (Casall), from whose half-sister we are auctioning an embryo, Delestre realised a super-fast jump-off in 40.57 seconds and so the winner seemed to be known... But that was without taking Niels Bruynseels into account! As the last rider, he and Lady Cracotte (Quaprice) finished almost a second faster and thus claimed victory in the very first edition of Waregem Horse Week. This makes Niels Bruynseels the only rider in the world who won all four Belgian CSI5* Grand Prix's in one year: Jumping Mechelen, Knokke Hippique, Brussels Stephex Masters and Waregem Horse Week...
Waregem Horse Week in short: first place for our Woodland's ambassador, followed by a second place for embryo number 24, a Heartbreaker out of the half sister to Chesall Zimequest who jumped at 1m60 level herself!
