A new year means new opportunities and that is of course no different for the Woodland's references. The first new chances came early this year because already on January 2 there was a competition in the American city of Wellington. Joyce van den Bisschop started here with her Colombian rider Juan Pablo Betancourt. The daughter of Ogano Sitte out of Tom De Craene's breeding jumped to 7th place in a national 1m40 class.

Another notable name in the past months was Belcanto Z, the son of Berlin who was bred by team member Niels Bruynseels. Belcanto Z is currently jumping under the saddle of Abdullah Mohd Al Marri and was noticed several times during the competitions in Abu Dhabi. During the four-star competition they jumped to a 4th place in a 1m45 class, while a few weeks later there was a 10th place during the two-star competition. But also Mumbai van de Moerhoeve started the new year very well! He appeared with his German rider Christian Kukuk at the start in Sentower Park and there he stood out with a 4th place during the opening day and an 8th place during the Longines Rankingclass on Friday evening.

There was also a victory in January with Qatar Donaldson Z and his Italian rider Guido Franchi! The son of Quidam de Rêvel won a 1m40 class in Arezzo during a national show. In Oliva Nova we saw Hunter (Bernini) at the start with his Turkish rider Derin Demirsoy. They claimed a 5th place in a 1m35 class. And last but not least, Ides van de Heikant (Wittinger VDL) also was placed again. He finished 6th under the saddle of Ryan Watkinson in a 1m30 class in Kronenberg.
