Lou Lou VLS and Maxx de Nyze Z shine in Wellington!
With no fewer than 31 top 10 rankings, the month of February has become a real top month for our Woodlands references! The top performance came again from the grey stallion Mumbai (Diamant de Semilly x Nabab de Rêve - B: De Moerhoeve BVBA), who jumped to a beautiful 6th place in the CSI5* GP of Doha in Qatar en this under the saddle of the German rider Christian Kukuk.
But the most eye-catching name in recent weeks was, just like last month, the 10-year-old mare Lou Lou VLS (Elvis Ter Putte x Erco Van 't Roosakker - B: Geert Van Loo-Soenens), who managed to jump to the top 5 again four times at the Wellington Winter Equestrian Festival. Under the saddle of the American lady rider Vanessa Hood, Lou Lou VLS finished 2nd and 5th at 1.45m level and 2nd and 3rd at 1.40m level.
Another horse that sustained the previous month's good performances in Wellington was Maxx de Nyze Z (Mr. Blue x Heartbreaker) under the saddle of the American lady Paris Ann Sellon. The breeding product of Danny Nijs started during week 4 with an 8th and a 10th place at 1.40m level and confirmed again at week 6 with a 9th place at 1.35m level. Nippon Vd Elzenakker (Elvis Ter Putte x Calvaro Z) also managed to classify himself twice at 1.35m level. Under the saddle of Callie Schott, the breeding product of Karel Van den Eynde and Carine De Schepper jumped to a 5th and a 9th place. And also for the American McLain Ward with Julyssi van Orti (Cicero Z Van Paemel x Vigo d’Arsouilles - B: Johan Van Oost) there was a 5th place in a 1.35m class.
On Spanish soil, it was mainly the young horses that managed to collect some prizes. At the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour of Oliva, for example, there was a 2nd place for the French rider Louis Wood with Ennio de Lezellec (l'Arc de Triomphe x Galoubet A - B: Patrick Eveno). The duo also managed to ensure a clear round twice. At the CES Valenca Tour, Mike Van Belle managed to classify himself again twice with Scendor Z (Hunter's Scendro x Contendro I - B: Niels de Bruijn) in the classes for the 5-year-old horses. This time they became 4th and 6th. In the CSI1* classes of the Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera there was a 5th place for the Portuguese rider Joao Mota with Full Option Vh Vissbroek Z (Final Touch v / h Vissbroek x Forever - B: Govaerts) and a 7th place for the Belgian rider Cassandre Malherbe with Nina van het Avenhof (Diarado x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve - B: Dycker-De Laeremans).
In Royan both the French riders Benoit Cernin with the 7-year-old Ermes des Flagues (Diamant de Semilly x Vondeen - B: Frédéric Lavoinne) and Jerome Hurel with Hanne van het Cauterhof (Toulon x Voltaire - B: Frederik Spiessens) were placed two times. Benoit Cernin and Ermes des Flagues jumped clear once and became 7th while Hurel finished 6th and 7th with Hanne van het Cauterhof.
But there were also some successes in our own country in the past month. For example, in Sentower Park in Opglabbeek there was a 10th place for Tim Prouvé with Echos Son Z (Echo van 't Spieveld x Nabab de Rêve), a breeding product of Niels Bruynseels. In a 1.40m class the Turkish rider Omer Karaevli jumped again to a 3rd place with Livingstone van het Peggershof (Ogano Sitte x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve - B: BVBA Cinfra) and for the Swedish rider Rolf-Göran Bengtsson there was an 8th place with Artemis V (Centadel x Chacco Blue) in a 1.20m class. A few kilometers away, in Azelhof in Lier, there was a 4th place for the Brazilian rider Andre Coutinho Mendonca Nagata with Jorgos d’Heyboght (Diarado x Quidam de Rêvel - B: Studfarm D’Heyboght BVBA) in a 1.35m class.
Finally, at a national show in Kungsbacka, Sweden, the Swedish rider Py Jägerden made a name for himself with Libido Van 't Hofken d'16 (Nabab de Rêve x Heartbreaker - B: Jozef Vennens). After a 4th place in a 1.45m class, an 8th place followed in the 1.50m high Grand Prix!
