ABOUT THE TALENT

Jugendnixe van ’t Merelsnest is a cocktail, made with the very best ingredients. Her sire, Mr. Blue, was one of the best showjumpers in the world under the saddle of Bert Romp. He also left his mark as a progenitor. Mr. Blue produced top-class showjumpers (such as Dana Blue, Plot Blue, Zirocco Blue, Simon and Saphyr des Lacs), as well as approved stallions that are highly regarded in showjumping breeding, including Plot Blue and Zirocco Blue.

Jugendnixe van ’t Merelsnest jumped at 1m30 level under the saddle of the late Björn Van Bunder. She produced, among others, Naila van ’t Merelsnest (with whom Sara Vingralkova performs in the international showjumping scene, up to and including five-star level), Obelix van ’t Merelsnest (who jumped at 1m40 level in the United States) and Vagabond’s Lady Merelsnest Z, with whom Barbara Belousek jumps at 1m40 level. Naila, in turn, is the dam of VDL Quizano van ’t Merelsnest (including 5th in the 5* 1m60 GP in Hamburg, Laura Klaphake) and his full brother Nearco (ex-Salvino) van ‘t Merelsnest VDL, who was approved as a breeding stallion by KWPN and jumps at 1m45 level. They belong to the successful BWP damline 17, with Sapphire as the most famous representative, the two-time winner of an Olympic team gold medal and winner of an impressive series of 5* Grands Prix (including Calgary, Rome, La Baule and Wellington), World Cup classes and Nations Cup competitions.
